Hello!

“Hi, can you ask your community if anyone has any tips on teething? My kids seem to have a terrible time whenever they are teething. Right now I have a 5 month old and a toddler struggling I would love some advice” Do you have any tips for teething?

  • I’ve heard cold spring onions the green and white stem area (no the leaves) are great!

  • Teething rings – can pop them in the fridge or freezer first too, that helped my little one

  • After a recent article here on MoMs, I suggest you avoid those amber necklaces. I’ve never been convince of how effective they are, but now they’re a choking hazard, definitely avoid

  • Children’s panadol to alleviate some pain and teething rings.

  • Thanks for posting this question! I myself am finding this whole teething business a bit of a challenge due to lack of sleep from being up with a cranky and uncomfortable bub. Most of these tips I have used but at least teething won’t last forever.

  • Lots of things to chew on. Teething rusks are great. Fruit and veg sticks. Teething rings you can refrigerate. With a little help from Panadol when the pain is really bad

  • At our women’s & children’s hospital in S.A they have their own gel & it works a teat. Can try a cold wet facewasher to chew on. Even put it in the freezer first

  • Panadol to relieve pain and fever. You just have to let it pass.

  • buy some teething gel and give them something to bite down on

  • Try a amber necklace

  • An amber necklace worked a treat for my daughter.

  • bonjella – really helped with my two.

  • Have multiple teething rings which you can alternate from the freezer.

  • Put some teething toys in the fridge so there nice and cold for baby and toddlers gums when they bite and suck on it.

  • You can buy teething gel with anaesthetic it works well and also panadol then nurofen two hours after that so one every two hours

  • frozen fruit would help as well as a big chop bone to naw on as well as rusks and you can buy a cream to help numb the gums

  • I have also found that cold strawberries have been a big hit with my daughter lately… Especially since there is another big toothie on the way up…. The teething toys that go in the fridge can also provide a little relief but I find that they don’t stay cool for long enough.

  • You can get strong teething gel from the hospital. ask your local dr

  • I love Hylands (natural) teething gel! It works wonders for my daughter and best of all doesn’t have an unpleasant taste!

  • Frozen damp face washer is great. And frozen berths is great once they start eating berries. Worked a treat on my son and so health!
