If you have one on your dashboard, it overheats during a heatwave and stops working, unplug it, take it in and put it in the bottom of your fridge for a few hours. A friend of mine did that last Summer. He decided if it didn’t work it had “died”. He put it back in his vehicle the next day and it worked. The last I heard it is still working. He thought he would have to buy a new one before Christmas 2014.

My family has a Nav man but it seems to have a number of glitches with it – like, it will tell you to turn left but you’re in the middle of a bridge and it’s picking up the road beneath you. Perhaps it’s just the software but it got old really quickly. We just use Google maps which is easier for me to follow anyway.

I’ve alwayys like the Tom Toms and still have a very old one from many years ago. I find the tom tom functions are simple especially for myself who is hopeless with new technology and can grasp the functions with ease. Now we have Google maps , it is similar . but for some reason my voice synthesiser is unstable so not sure what the problem is .

i have a great mobile and use my google maps on there so it is basically a free navigation system.

I have an old Tom Tom but for some reason the directions are inaccurate because I haven’t updated it and couldn’t be bothered with it . My son thinks Google maps is the best which he uses to direct me sometimes but it doesn’t work on my mobile . I think I’d rather use a map .

We have a Tom Tom and love it. I suppose that’s why I have found Nav Man hard in others cars.

I like Navman – find it’s a sturdier machine and very easy to use.
