Hello!

I need to buy a new washing machine, and want to get one that is going to last. I am torn between a Bosch and Miele – do the MoM mums have any experience or tips that could tip the scales one way of the other? Thank you in advance!”

  • I have a 5.5 kg Fisher and Paykel. Touch button instructions, great on water and clothes come out clean wash after wash. Have had it for 6, nearly 7, years now and no problems or breakdowns…..touchwood

  • LG are good!!

  • I went from a Simpson that lasted me for years and years (and finally gave up the ghost) to a Fisher & Paykel top-loader and I couldn’t be happier. My sister had a Miele and she had nothing but trouble with it, from 2 weeks after she got it. More expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better made. And a hint from a washing-machine repair man was to never ever ever use fabric softener when you wash, as it absolutely ruins the workings and inside of the machine. Use a couple of tablespoons of vinegar in the final rinse, and your clothes will still be lovely and soft, without damaging the washing machine.

  • we have a simposnit is very good :) :)

  • It helps I think to buy one that it is easy to get spare parts for.

  • Have u decided… In the end I think they all made in china!

  • I have always had a Bosch and they have always been great

  • We had a Hoover (Front Loader ) lasted several years

  • we’ve recently got rid of a leading brand (Italian) front loader. Hated it. went back to a top loading fisher paykel & loving it.

  • Looks like a lot of people recommend Miele.

  • I love my bosch, had it for 8 years now. Just make sure you get a 8-10 kg one

  • I have also had a Simpson and it lasted for app 12 years. Great machine.

  • We bought a Hoover front loader and love it.

  • I had a fairly small fisher & paykel which I absolutely loved before I had my daughter! I made the mistake of upgrading to a larger Haier when she came along and have regretted it ever since!
The size of the machine is great and it does do a good job of washing the clothes, however it really doesn’t seem to fill up as much as it should for the larger loads and often takes a bit of fiddling to get it to the correct water height!
I would definitely recommend a large machine with the electronic display – I definitely miss my old faithful Fisher & Paykel…

  • love my simpson! was my parents to begin with and they had it for 8 years then gave it to me. just do your reasearch on teh model online before you buy it and read others reviews first :D

  • i think ull pay more for the brand u want.

  • I have had fisher and paykel for app 2 years haven’t had a problem with it yet.

  • I have a fisher and paykel and I love it. It only uses as much water as is needed for the load so there is no water wastage. It also has the option to delay start so you can fill the machine up the night before and then have it start the next morning.

  • Not lg they have no customer service

  • I have just brought a new one and it is great as it uses very little water and is quick to wash
