Hello!

My 14 month old is waking up every two hours or so at night! I know it’s the cold waking her up but I am struggling to keep her happy! She goes to bed in a terry towel onesie with a vest underneath and in a sleep sack with her blanket on top. Two hours later she has no blankets and got out of the sleep sack, so I put her in it again blankets back on tuck her in and she busts out again two hours later this goes on until about 7 am when it warms up again and she sleeps better what shall I do?

  • A thicker sleeping tog and the fastening on the back. We ordered ours mostly at ErgoPouch

  • Can you keep her room a little warmer?

  • Btw my youngest never uses a blanket. So it’s only her pj and her sleeping sack. I made some sleeping sacks myself, summer and winter ones, to make sure she’s warm enough. To prevent her undressing herself I made a press button fastening over the top of the zip and over that a double button fastening which closes in the inside of the garment.

  • I have the sleeping togs back to front on by my youngest (zip on the back) so she can’t get them off. Sleeping togs come in different quality, winter & summer. When it’s really cold you could chose to put the radiator on during the night on a low setting.

  • Is the sleep sack like a sleeping bag where the shoulders are buttoned in? Maybe you need a heater in the room or put more clothes on her.

  • Perhaps a heater in her room and put two or 3 onsies on her to keep her warm

  • a fuzzy onsies over their pjs if they cant keep blankets on.

  • I’ve used Grobags on all three of my children with great success. None of them have ever gotten themselves out of them. I’m confident that if I follow the instructions for dressing depending on the weight of the grobag and the temperature that they’ll be snug as they need to be.

  • I would recommend sleeping bags :)

  • Sleeping bags are a life saver. Had the same problem with my son and sleeping bag saved us!

  • I love the sleeping bags!! If you go to the baby shops you can find good quality ones there. Most also are labelled for different tog levels (thickness).

  • Definitely the sleeping bag, you can get the one that zips up then has a cover that goes over the top of the zip to stop them from being able to pull it down.

  • Try the sleeping bags that are like a onesie or put a woolen under blanket in her cot.

  • If she keeps getting out of blankets/sleep suits maybe put a heater in the room, I know it might get expensive but even if its just for a few nights so you get some sleep and hopefully she gets out of the routine of waking up

  • Definately agree with purchasing a sleeping bag, snug as a bug in a rug, plus a peaceful sleep for mum! Goodluck

  • Do yourself a massive favour and invest in a good room temp gauge (I have a gro egg) and a tizzie hall save our sleep bedding guide. This gave me so much clarity

  • Maybe an offpeak heater that keeps the room warm.

  • Yes a sleeping bag with long sleeves will keep her ans make sure the top of the zip has a snap button over the top. Forget the pjs and put her in just a singlet. You can also buy thicker onesies like snuggies, just like a sleep bag….so it doesn’t matter if she kicks the blankets off!

  • A sleeping bag would solve your problem, also try putting socks on to keep her feet warm. Maybe try warming the room before you put her to bed as well?

  • I dress my son as if that’s all he’s going to have on when going to bed and then put him in a snuggie. He detests having sheets/blankets on him and will only kick them off. I also check with my husband what he thinks bub should be wearing as they seem to feel the weather the same. Perhaps try just giving back the dummy (if she uses one) to get her to go back to sleep as opposed to putting her underneath the blanket again
