Making sure your kids hair is tied up.
Lice are a nightmare.

I am using a spray everyday- water tea tree oil lavemder oil Eucalyptus oil and hair conditioner.

I make a mixture up with some water conditioner and tea tree oil. Spray and brush through daily.. my son’s hair is too short to brush but still spray and give a rub through. Also give a spray with hairspray.

Spray hair everyday – water, conditioner, tree oils, Eucalyptus oil and lavender. Oil.

Let your kids hair get dirty. Nits love clean hair. My sister used a spray with eucalyptus oil in it, seemed to work

It is so horrible for kids to get threw no fault of their own. Use cheap conditioner and comb it threw

tea tree, eucalyptus and peppermint oil in hat, spray in hair.

Use lots of conditioner on your kids’ hair – it makes it hard for the lice to get a grip and stay. (I am perfectly serious.)

There are many products on the market and keeping the hair neat and using hairspray is one way that I used. The hair seems to be too sticky and hard for the lice to get into – anyway, what ever it was, we didn’t get it in our kids by using that method.

Pull back girls long hair into a bun or wrap around plat/braid.
Boys hair is best keep short.
A good spay of lavender or tea tree with water and combed through hair.
And after final hair is done a good spray with hairspray or use a good hair gel.

Eventually kids stop getting headlice, I don’t know what it is but something changes in late primary school and head lice is less of an issue. In saying that preventative treatment, hairspray and tea tree spray is a must to stop it before it starts.

Comb through eucalyptus oil, but make sure you dilute it properly or you will burn the scalp. believe you can find the ratio online. Always patch test for allergic reactions.

I’m following seeing as my daughter got lice from a random hat she put on her head in a bargain store.

I don’t know of any way you can prevent it as such- if it’s a girl you can tie hair back in a bun with a hair net which would help. If a boy shave hair to a short style.

Either very short hair or always tied back and there’s also a really good natural spray you can get from the chemist, I think it has a teatree base.

We wash our child’s hair with a tea tree and eucalyptus oil shampoo, and I use a spray on her hair with these oils as well. It seems to help deter the lice. We also don’t wash it too often. Maybe once a week, but that’s also because she hates hair washing. Swimming lessons week was a nightmare!
Keeping long hair tied up helps, too. My daughter managed to get headline twice in pre-primary, but her hair wasn’t tied up so well, and she was always the touchy feely kid who’d hug or snuggle up with her friends, so we think that’s how it spread. She thankfully hasn’t had them since. She’s since had her hair cut shorter in a bob style, but we still tie it up in a ponytail or pigtails and put hair slides in the front to keep the fringe contained. We also make sure to check regularly for lice so we can get on to them quickly.

Cleaning out all the beddings as often as possible. Treating the head lice immediately and bathing the kids when they got home after school.

Whatever you use, you just need to take the time (be patient, and a lot of it) to get rid of all of the lice and follow-up treatment. I used to put loads of conditioner in my son’s hair to make it harder for them. But it doesn’t matter what you do if other parents don’t treat their children. My son had repeat head lice from a family who refused to deal with it. The poor children suffered with being removed from school until it was sorted, etc. and they were always known as the family responsible for nits. The Mum just didn’t care.
