  • Be friendly, but keep your head down a bit for the first week or two. You want a sense of things like who’s the nasty gossip (who you want to avoid) and things like that. I think being friendly, helpful and willing to learn in the first few weeks goes a long way.

  • Just go in and do your job. Work hard, be your self and see what comes your way

  • Just got to work and do your job, that’s what you’re there fir after all. Everything else should be secondary and not your main focus

  • Make sure you’re open, chatty to everyone because first impressions count. Get a good nights sleep before hand and pick what you’re going to wear as well 🙂

  • I agree, morning tea is always a winner! 🙂 Everybody seems to love cake.

  • I think you are best to try to engage in lots of conversations, try to initiate coffee dates and bringing in morning tea is always a winner!

  • Be friendly and be yourself and don’t get involved with catty people!

  • Lunches and end of the week drinks are always a good idea. The drinks can be soft drink, it is about being involved.

  • Make an effort to engage in conversation especially during lunch.
Participate in any work organised social functions.
