  • My daughter was always very cautious before trying new things and in some ways I think that’s not a bad way to be.

  • Ours don’t seem to have a lot yet but I have noticed Mr 6 gets a bit caught up in his work (even if it’s not school work and just colouring or a video game) if it’s not his idea of perfect.
Miss 10 is a bit insecure about making a mistake infront of people and it can effect her getting in there and taking that first step. Also very recently won’t wear singlets because of the little triangle you can get in your armpit!
the other siblings are 3, 7 and 8 and don’t seem to have any prevailing insecurities yet.

  • My 11 & 13 year old daughters struggle with fear of not being accepted by others, their appearance & not being good enough.

  • We are lucky our kids 11 and 7 don’t have any yet

  • I think mine struggled with the thought of no one liking them. But there were no issues, friends were made and kept long after school finished

  • My both daughters have the same insecurities and that is failing at things especially school work assignements etc

  • My 16yr old daughter is currently suffering depression and anxiety. Having the only bedroom downstairs, she’s afraid for noises in the night and now sleeps with us in the bedroom. Her biggest insecurities are about herself in relationship to others.
My son (15yr) is a bit shy with big gatherings and new people. He used to have a big fear in the night too till he was about 10yr old or so.
My 11yr old daughter is a child with problems due to a history of severe neglect by her biological parents. Although she appears to be very confident, there are fears for abandonment, not being enough and fear to loose control. She doesn’t like to be vulnerable in any situation and is often as a lion in attack.
My 7yr old has Down syndrome and has a fear for darkness (even during the day the lights have to be switched on), big open spaces and loud noises. However these are more sensory issues/fears and not really an insecurity.

  • Missing out on something fun

  • My girls are uncomfortable in the dark. They also don’t like strangers coming close in crowded spaces. My eldest worries about her skin and pimples too.

  • I think for my son his is missing his family. I’m not sure if it’s an age or if he is sensitive.
