  • It’s going to be warm then so don’t go too crazy on bedding. Also, don’t be fooled into buying a whole cot bedding set with doona, comforter, top sheet, pillow etc
The only thing your bub will need for years is a fitted sheet. It’s not safe to use anything else and if it’s a cool night, just use a swaddle or sleeping sack. By the time your child will use proper bedding, you will want a design that’s not so infantile.

  • For us it was the rocking chair we had a un settled child and this was our saving grace

  • our changing table, we didn’t have one for our first born and when we had twins 2nd/3rd it was a must, saved out backs and posture and wished we had one for our first

  • My son slept in ergo bag for the first few months. I ended up having 4 in case of midnight nappy explosions. However my niece never liked to be wrapped (So lucky for us we got hers ergo bags too). I would suggest a really comfortable chair, My sister loved her nursing chair, I had one for Ikea that was awesome.

  • I couldn’t live without my nappy bin, lol.

  • we had a portable change table which I would put on the bed to change baby, much safer. Also being portable it was easy to take away with us when staying away from home for a few days. There should be baby sales prior to Christmas, start looking around now for ideas and prices.

  • Onesies are great, have about half a dozen in each size, Target singlets are the best. The Love to Dream swaddle/ sleeping bags are fantastic.

  • I’d start buying things now I guess, not sure there is a “best time” to buy, just was thinking of not sure if they’d have christmas discounts or not. I can’t live without my heater for those cold days and nights when you need to do a nappy change, i turn heater on first if i have enough time.

  • Get the basics ready , basinet, bedding & few jump suits .Night light .Sometimes people have baby showers list what u might need .

  • Agree with the night light and also in bubs room when changing nappies at night, keeps bub half asleep and not as hard to put back down!

  • My son was in a bassinet next to our bad for the first four and a half months and then went into his cot when he out grew it.

The night light was really handy for night time changes as it’s much softer on the eyes.

  • best time price wise would most likely be on Boxing day but would you really want to do that?

I couldnt have lived without my change table.

  • Tetra snuggle bed. Goes inside a cot and is way easier to travel with than a porta cot. My son is 3 mths and is just starting to out grow it. So glad I went with this over a bassinet. We put it in his travel cot in our room and now I\\\’m moving him to his own room and proper cot. Also a good chair. Great in your room for late night and early morning feeds.

  • I would start buying things now so it’s not a great big expense in one big hit.
I found a night light to be my saving grace to be honest as I didn’t have to put the main light on and completely wake my son up.
We actually found some baby monitors that had a great night light and also played music we got them from baby buntings, they were great.

  • My rocking chair. I had it in my bedroom for the first few months.

  • my nursing chair. I actually had it in my bedroom for the first few months. I love it!

  • Our bub is six months and hasn’t been in his room. We had him in a bassinet beside the bed and now have his cot beside us. He still wakes through the night to be fed, so it’s convenient. With that in mind, having a night light beside the cot helps. That way you can switch it on (not as bright as a lamp or ceiling light), but not completely wake bub up.
