Hello!

I can’t win! The cheap and fancy frying pans don’t last. We fry a lot of steak and bacon and throw it in the dishwasher. Any suggestions?

  • We have a Tefal. I love it. Heats up fast, has consistent all over heat, non stick and really sturdy

  • My frypan is a Spring frypan. It was quite expensive but has lasted me more than a decade and still looks great.

  • I use cheap ones and replace every couple of years

  • I think they recommend not putting frypans in the dishwasher

  • You are right , buy a good one as it is worth the investment . My frypan was purchased this year at Victoria’s Basement as they always have variety to choose from for good prices. Myer can have good ones on sale too and some has shapes that is like a frypan /wok types . Never use metal utensils as someone told me that is the best way to damage your frypan no matter how good it is .

  • I would try not to put them in the dishwasher. We use an electric frypan and just wipe it out after everytime we use it – it is definetly better than any stove top frypan.

  • The stonedine range really is amazing

  • I’m the same though last time I spent $50 on one from House and it still went to crap :(

  • I use scan pan but not sure if it’s dishwasher safe

  • I have two IKEA frying pans. One is steel and one is cast iron. I’ve had both for several years now and they’re both going strong with no signs of wear and tear.

  • I have a good quality Esteele frying pan that cooks very well and I always soak it after use and then wash by hand. I also have an Esteele cleaning product that I use every 3rd or 4th time that I bought with the pan in Myer. This keeps the pan shiny but does not scratch the surface. Buying quality if you can afford to is worthwhile in the long run!

  • 18/10 stainless steel. Had them for over 20 years. Dont put your heat up high it makes the bottoms concave

  • Scanpan is a good pan to use! I have one of those!

  • I have a set of Flavourstone pans. BRILLIANT!!! Non stick, love it! Takes a little bit of maintenance to start and then at regular intervals to keep them at peak condition. But well worth it

  • I have stainless steel and also hand wash. They last a long time. Some of them belonged to my Nana

  • My frying pan is great-Esteele and we hve had it 17 years and still going strong! We hand wash it.

  • I have many fry pans that are stainless steel and were purchased many, many years ago. I wash them by hand and they just last and last and keep on delivering the goodies.

  • I just bought a frypan with ceramic inside and it’s great to fry, saute without any washing problems, and they are not that expensive.

  • I’ve had an expensive Jamie Oliver one and all the Non stick peeled off. Now I use a cheap metal one I found at an op shop.

  • I but the tefal fey pans and they last me about 3 to four years. But i dont put them in the dishwasher. I think it might be the ingredients in the dishwashing powders etc that might be causing the issues of it not lasting. I just give it a quick wipe out as soon as i finish cooking with it and use some of the stello to give it a really good clean about once a month. I only ever buy them when the frypans are on speial so they are then affordable.
