Hello!

Am thinking about doing online shopping, is it worth it?

  • Yes and no. Yes because you can get lots of bulkier and heavier items delivered for you and it’s convenient to be able to do it when you want. The no is often the delivery windows not suiting, the cost of delivery, the amount of time it takes sometimes to find the items on the site, not being able to choose alternatives after the cut-off window closes if an item becomes unavailable, not being able to choose your own fresh produce etc., not having access to some of those items on extra special prices eg. reduced for a quick sale. And there’s probably more, like the time the delivery driver forgot one of my bags and so I had to contact them and get him to come back later which was not convenient at all. Really depends on what you want to get out of shopping online. Best way to find out is to try it!

  • It’s a really convenient service with the delivery windows and the delivery price reduces the more you spend. If buying heavy bulk items on special e.g. Washing powder, cans of coke it’s so much easier to have them lifted straight into your kitchen. I have had occasions where products have been missing and emailed customer service and was always reimbursed quickly. Some online prices are higher than in store, I’ve not always been thrilled with the quality of fruit and veg and the online range is more limited than the choices in store. Overall when you’re busy its a great option.

  • I’ve had both the click and collect and home delivery; I found its epic value if ur shopping for meats online coz they always give u more than unpaid for!

  • I used their online shopping service a while ago when I was unwell and couldn’t drive. It was an absolute Godsend and each week I was so grateful when the truck arrived and the delivery man carried my groceries into the kitchen. The only real downside I found was that although they have all the advertised specials online (the same as instore) the regular price of some of the other groceries is a bit higher. So overall you end up paying a bit more for your groceries.

  • I recently tried it for the first time and I was really impressed.

I did the instore pick up and it was great. They wheeled out my trolley ready to go. So much better than dealing with screaming kids when I do it myself.

They threw in a few extra items too which was nice (ie. increased the quality of things I ordered).

I will definitely be doing it again!

  • Depends on where you live, I found that as we are in a small town with only Coles we can get it delivered but it will be the next day. Easier to get in the car and go downtown. Prices are sometimes dearer online I’ve noticed, all in all your own personal choice. Can always give them a go?

  • I have used both Woolworths and Coles and found them both easy to use.
I think if you struggle with food shopping or have to stick to a strict budget then online shopping is great, i just missed walking around the aisles and grabbing the reduced things.

  • I shopped online before I had a car and at that time Woolworths charge more for delivery than do Coles. Coles also seemed to have better quality of fresh fruit and veg. This is just my personal opinion. I wrote out my shopping list into each and compared prices before I finalised my order each time. I hope this helps.

  • Yes!! I have a newborn and a 20 month old. I do all groceries through woolworths online. It’s great, they bring groceries right onto your kitchen bench. You can choose a 3 hr delivery window but morning of delivery if you log in to track my order it gives you a 20minute window of delivery estimate for you.

  • It’s graet for when you just can’t physically get out to do the shopping. I did it for a while when my twins were younger… But I now prefer to see what I’m buying in person. It wouldn’t be so bad if you didn’t mind substitutes
