Grown from your garden(to keep long term)
Cool and dark works fine for the shop ones and don’t cut (obviously). I imagine home grown is similar?
Store them in a cool dark dry place and avoid any humidity. Good luck
Cool dry and dark and don’t cut them they should last 3 months.
I always cut the pumpkin into pieces and remove the seeds and put in fridge. No need to peel but this means they keep a bit longer
It is important that the piece of stalk that is attached to the pumpkin has dried – is not still green and moist to touch
I believe keeping them in a cool dark place – not the fridge – works well.
Store in a cool, dry, dark place and leave about 5cms of the stalk attached. I found mine stored for months this way. Oh, and rotate them so they’re not sitting on the same spot all the time, limits bruising and squashy bits
You are welcome. Success with your pumpkins! I love them!!
Thanks much for your involved input this was really helpful everything I needed to know about pumpkin storing thanks
I would probably store them in a dry and dark place like I do with potatoes and onions. Give a look here https://www.abc.net.au/gardening/factsheets/pumpkin-pickin/9438624
