  • 3 year old: dinner, play, teeth, toilet, pyjamas, books, cuddles to sleep.

1 year old: dinner, play, teeth, nappy change, pyjamas, books, cuddle, bounce on ball until she decides she wants to go in my room, read more books, sing songs, bounce on ball, change back to her room, bounce on ball, cuddle, sing songs, kiss her forehead until she falls asleep.

  • It used to be toilet nappy/pull up, bed, story, lullaby and kiss good night.
Now it’s a lot of defiance, selective hearing, lost tempers and 25 mins later we get them to the toilet, and in bed. Story all depends on how much time is available. Lullaby and kiss goodnight.

  • After tea a little tv, a play, brush teeth, go to the toilet then into bed & I’ll read a story or 2. Good night & lights out. I wait a little then go back in & Re tuck & say another nigh night & another kiss & cuddle.

  • We have a very early bedtime routine in our house. On the days I work and get home at 5:30pm my husband has already had the kids showered and dinner made so when I get in I have a shower, we all eat dinner then go in and brush teeth then tuck into bed (this is all usually by about 6:30pm. on Weekends the kids are pretty stuffed from the day (we make the most of our weekends) and the kids have a bath late arvo, dinner, teeth bed by about 5:30-6pm. It seems like a crazy time but it works for them.

  • After dinner, whoever finishes first starts the shower. The next one gets in as the other gets out (less water wastage). Then it’s pjs. My two know they can eat fruit after dinner so they usually have 2 pieces each. At 7pm they brush their teeth, watch 1 episode of the Simpsons, have their medication and go to bed at 730 ish (on a school night) weekends it’s up till the end of a movie then bed.
There’s no arguments as I give them the responsibility. They are 6 & 7 yrs

  • We’ve had the same routine for years. Dinner, play time, bath time, books, bed.

  • dinner, bath, a little playtime or tv and then bed and a story. pretty basic routine.

  • Have a nice calming bath, get pj’s on and read a nice short book before bed, sometimes even sing some songs together.

  • I had a wonderful evening with my son tonight. After many problems of late, it really came out of the blue. We played games and laughed and laughed. He was so happy when he went to bed. It really was wonderful. One of the best nights we’ve had in ages. I appreciate your responses mums. Thanks. And I am happy tonight. :)

  • I would put Dora on so she could watch it falling asleep.Other nights you would have a bedtime story, toilet & teeth first.

  • Thanks for your response ladies. :)

  • We do baths/showers, teeth, stories and then a quick cuddle and tucked in. My kids are between 2-8.

  • For us its always been, dinner, play, bath, bottle, books and then bed.

  • We have dinner, bath, one episode of something (bubble guppies, Dora etc) then bed.
    That’s my 2 year old.
My son will sometimes watch his iPad for 10mims before bed.
