Hello!

I have started a party plan business selling candles and am looking for some fun games to play to break the ice and encourage conversation between guests who may not know each other.

  • Quizzes , bingo come to mind

  • I’ve seen heaps on great ideas on Pinterest!

  • Candle guessing. Guess what the fragrance of the candle is. It’s also great because then people really concentrate on the scents of the candles and find ones they love!

  • Whats in your handbag?
or pantry/linen closet/etc whatever is relevant to the party

  • do you make the candles? have lucky dips where you pick a candle and burn it and see if there is a prize in there. Or an instruction on paper for a game etc

  • Memory game. Objects under a cloth and try and name them

  • Animal bingo! always gets a bit of laughs! I am not a massive fan of these games and I am rather anxious

  • It would be a help to know what kids of party plan you are in so we could answer with something that may match your plan a little better. Maybe you could do a chocloate tasting where a person is blind folded and tastes a bit of choc and trys to guess the correct flavour. But you would have to find out if there are any allergies in the group before hand.

  • To be honest, I always find those games painful. I’d rather just chat to people I don’t know.

  • At a body shop party the host lady gave out game monopoly money if we asked questions or answered some questions. It gave us an excuse to talk if we needed. The person with the most at the end won a small prize. Good luck with your business :)

  • I love the name the celebrity game-tape the name of a celebrity onto each person’s back as they arrive and them get them to mingle. The guests have to ask each other questions and try and guess the name of the celebrity on their back. The winner is the person that asks the least amount of questions and guesses the name of their celebrity. Guests have a giggle and then start to talk about themselves. It is a good ice breaker. :)

  • I love the spot the fragrance game, get people to smell the candle and guess the fragrance
