Hello!

With a bub on the way, I’m wondering what pram other mums would recommend I buy? I would like to buy a good quality one as this is only my first baby. Any suggestions or recommendations would be a huge help. Thanks

  • 7 years ago we brought a strider 3. Fabulous pram, a little wide and has now developed a squeaky wheel. But it’s had some use! I’m now after a pram the is more compact to allow more room in the boot and was thinking a city mini GT! Best thing to do is go into baby shops with an open mind and a list of things you want out of it. Think ahead(more kids etc..) do you run, if so you may want tyres that inflate for extra cushioning for Bub and even a pram that offers suspension. Go and try out a huge range and cross them off one by one. Sometimes it’s best to pay more now especially if it’s going to do more than one child

  • Steel craft strider. IT is a bit bulky but very sturdy and has been with us for 3 years. No issues. =)

  • I love Striders!! Any of their prams are really good, and quite spacious and comfortable for a baby or toddler. Good luck with your search and hope that whatever you get, you are happy with it =)

  • We got stealcraft. I found some of the very expensive brands were not good for walking on the paths and only good for shopping centres. It also had a capsule fitting which was brilliant.

  • I bought a Valco Rebel Q then had a seat.skateboard attachment when my second son was born.

  • depends if your planing more babies. the baby jogger city select can be used in single mode or double mode .if you want something light weight and easy to fold try the baby jogger city mini . can fold one handed , fits in most boots and very grandparent friendly

  • I have the bugaboo cameleon 3 I love it, very easy to fold and so easy to push I walk it on the boggy sand and it glides through.. Expensive but worth it!!

  • We bought the steelcraft agile plus travel system. It’s great for traveling with bub especially when he falls asleep in the capsule, we don’t have to disturb him

  • my first pram was a strider plus and i fell in love with it :) and my other a mountain buggy swift awesome pram also :)

  • Expensive but we loved the City Select pram, great for singular or double, we have twins and it was a life saver

  • i have a city mini baby jogger- i LOVE it. use it every day- walking/running its perfect.

  • We made the mistake of getting some fancy looking single pram and then our 2nd daughter came along we purchased the strider compact (ocean colour as it has foam wheels)
We are completely I love! No need to take seats of to collapse and such a nice smooth push. We love the versatility of the seating arrangements and how easy it goes back to being a single pram once miss 2 walk more. It also has all the extras with it so no extra cost for covers, brackets etc etc.

  • I bought a Mama’s & Papa’s Sola.

  • We have a city mini baby jogger gt. Really light (bubs great grandma loves it! ), easy to manoeuvre on all terrain but space to carry thing in the under carriage is a bit small/hard to access. We only intend to have 1 child so if you want more, look at another pram as you can’t add a second seat to the city mini gt. You would need to go up to the next models in the baby jogger range.

  • Congratulations! I had my first bub back in April :) we bought a Baby Jogger City Versa!! I love it!! Things I think you should look out for when choosing a pram:
    1) will it fit in your car (this goes for carseats too)
    2) Roomy storage underneath for nappy bag
    3) Accessories available eg drink holder (not important consideration but helpful)
    4) write down the features you want…maybe to be able to add second seat, maybe style or colour, maybe the way you use it (like running) etc

    Have fun!!

  • I did a lot of research and bought a steelcraft strider plus, It appealed to me as it was quite stable (I have an older disabled child who is unsteady on his feet) but there are so many great prams on the market these days you are literally spoilt for choice. You pretty much need to select your criteria and work from there. I liked the idea of a capsule that could transition straight from pram to car (let sleeping babies lay), it was easy to fold (but a bit bulky) Hit the streets and do a little Pram gazing!

  • I would recommend you have a go at folding up and unfolding all your friends prams and putting them in your boot. This will give you an idea of how hard or easy each one is to use. And if it will fit well into your car. Bub won’t mind what you choose as long as your don’t tip them out.

  • I was given a friend’s hand-me-down…. a jogger of some sort, it was pretty old & she’d put her own bit & bobs on it…. it did the job :)

  • I would buy a cheapo layback stroller and spend your money on a great baby carrier! Babywearing is so amazing and lets you really bond with your baby and learn their cues. There are some gorgeous carriers out there like beautiful Woven Wraps, Ergo’s/Tulas, Meitai’s and Stretchy Wraps :) If you need more info there are some great point here -> http://www.quirkybaby.com/all-about-babywearing.html Babywearing isn’t just for babies either, I still wear my 4.5yr old on my back sometimes and am always carrying my 2yr old on my back :D

  • We purchased a city elite jogger – easy to fold and assemble. Lightweight, best sun protection oversized shade hood. Smooth ride, easy to manoeuvre. Love it and so do lots of my family and friends who have purchased one.
