Hello!

What time do your kids go to bed and how old are they? My kids tell me I make them go too early (compared to their friends) but very interested to hear your thoughts. MoM x

  • two year old and four year old both go to bed at 7:30 unless they’re completely tuckered out and fall asleep earlier.

  • Depends if she naughty… Between 7.30 and 8

  • 8:00 in our house. 🙂

  • 7.30 for younger children
    8.30 children from 6 to 8
    9.30 for the older ones

  • it depends on their age but I read that kids aged 5-12 need 10-11 hours. this is a guide mine would be more like 12 so count back from time they have to wake up.
Dont be fooled by them saying they go to bed earlier than others this may be the case in some instances but everyone is individual and often kids say they go to bed later than they actually do. what ever works for you and your kids so they are well rested.

  • By 8 – 8.30 but earlier if they are naughty. But you are the mum so the should respect your decisions. Every family is different and what other families do shouldn’t matter. My kids tried the, ‘my friend get….’, and I told them I don’t care what their friend are allowed to do, because in my house it my rules.

  • My son is 2 and goes to bed at 7:30pm.

  • My girls are nearly 5 and they go to bed between 7.30 and 8pm on school nights, maybe 8.30pm on weekends

  • My eldest son is 4 n a half. His bedtime is 7.30 during the week & 8pm fridays & saturdays. We start preparing him for bed at 7.

  • I think it depends on your child. Mine is two and goes to bed at 7:30pm.

  • I personally think it varies with age, and sometimes even from child to child (more so with teens and tweens though)

  • both of my kids (3 yo and 6 mo) sleep at 8 or 8.30 on the weekend

  • My five year old goes to bed at 7, falls asleep around half an hour later, and my ten year old goes at 7:30 and falls asleep between 30-60 minutes later (they are allowed to read quietly once bedtime routine is done). Both of them wake at 6:30-7 each morning.

  • My five year old goes to bed at 7, falls asleep around half an hour later, and my ten year old goes at 7:30 and falls asleep between 30-60 minutes later (they are allowed to read quietly once bedtime routine is done)

  • upto 5 years of age…they should go to bed around 7:30 pm.

  • 11 month 7pm, 3 yr old 7:30pm, 11yr old 8pm, and 13 and 14 yr old 9 pm.. I allow half hour for reading for the bigger children..

  • 2 Year old goes to bed around 7.15- 7.30

  • My kids both go to bed at 8pm.
My 3.5 year old has always been a shocking sleeper and still wakes during the night most nights and when he’s up, he’s up whether it’s 5am or 8am!
My 6 year old sleeps from 8pm ish til 7/ 7:30am and I find she gets plenty if sleep to get through her day at school etc..

  • My 9 yr old goes to bed at 8.30pm, my 6 yr old goes after 7.30pm but before 8pm and my 2 yr old is in bed around 7pm

  • Miss just turned 9 goes at 8:30 as does her just turned 13 sister. Both are allowed to read in bed (longer for the older girl). The reading winds them down even further. Miss 9 could easily go at 10pm and wake up at 7am without any adverse behaviour. No so for Miss 13… she needs at least 10 – 11 hours sleep to be ‘human’ the next morning.
