Hello!

What time do your kids go to bed and how old are they? My kids tell me I make them go too early (compared to their friends) but very interested to hear your thoughts. MoM x

  • My almost 3yo goes to bed around 8pm, and wakes up at around 7am.
My 8mo goes to bed around 7:30, but wakes up 2-4 times during the night before waking up for the day at around 7am. Hopefully she will start waking less through the nigh soon!

  • When my children started school it was 6.30, 7pm for eldest, then later in primary school it was 7.30 & 8pm for my eldest. Harder to control in high school but no later than 9.30, doesn’t mean they sleep straight away. My children always woke up refreshed, you may have some tantrums but it makes for a more refreshed & relaxed mum & dad too 🙂

  • 7/7.30pm, depending on our day. They are 20 months, 3 1/2 and 5 1/2.

  • my 2 yr old goes at 7pm 6 and 8 yr old at 7.30pm works well in my house..although they are up by 7-7.30am the following morning!

  • Much too late! I can’t get my 9 year old to sleep before 9pm, even if he’s been in bed since 7. And my four year old plays until 11 some nights! It doesn’t matter how tough I get, he can be in bed and wide awake playing, and often gets up to do a poo at ten, meaning we have to wait til that event before there’s a hope of him falling asleep. His paternal grandma told me his dad was the same, but his dad has still managed to judge me on my inability to get him asleep by seven. It’s the judging I find most irritating, so I have learnt not to judge other mums on it!

  • My 5 yr & 6 yr old gb, are in bed by 8pm, works well for them

  • With My 2 Year old Bedtime Stories at 6 30 then Sleeping around 7- 7 30

  • My 21mth old goes to bed anytime between 6.30-7.30 (depends how long day nap is) and older 2 (6yrs and 4yrs) never stay up longer than 8 but usually down by 7.30

  • My 2 year old and 4 year old go to bed by 7:30pm. Sometimes my 2 year old goes a bit earlier depending on how early he got up and whether he had a nap that day.

  • Mostly we told our kids to go to bed by 8 pm but my girl won’t go to sleep if I don’t lay don’t with her.

  • As early as possible these days, but usually around 8.30 for the 3.5 and 5 yr old and 7.30 for the 1 yr old

  • The baby at around 7 and the other 2 at 8.30. WE have quiet time for tele after 7.30 and then bed

  • 2,4 and 6 and we used to put them to bed around 8 but have found 7 seems to suit them better ie more rested.

  • My nearly 12 year old goes to bed at 9pm on a school night. A little late perhaps but it works for him as its late enough that he doesn’t lie in bed all night trying to sleep but early enough that he gets a good night’s sleep.

  • My dd goes around 6.30

  • My friends 5 year old is in bed by 7/7.30.
My niece and nephews (9, 12, 13, 15) are in bed by 8.30.

  • I have a 15 month old and he’s in bedby 6.30 🙂

  • I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old there in bed by 6.30, a friend has kids between 7-14 and there in bed by 8pm lights out at 8.30pm

  • You haven’t mentioned the age of your children but we have 2,5 and 7 year old and we put them at the moment to bed at 7pm we used to put them to bed later but found this seemed to reduce tiredness the next day.

  • Our family dynamics are very tricky, with my husband coming home at about 8 or 8.30 most nights. I aim to have my 12 and 9 year old in bed by 8.30 but its usually between 9 and 9.30. So to compensate I let them sleep in as much as possible the next morning. It isn’t ideal, but for now its the best we can do.
