Hello!

I’m babysitting a 1 year old. The baby threw up some clear like substance and when I changed her and took her a bath I saw that she has a bad diaper rash and also some red welts on her belly . I don’t know what to do because this has never happened to my baby before. Should I call the parents?

  • Yes I would certainly share my concerns !

  • Yes 100% express your concern.

  • Yes, rashes can turn nasty very quickly. And if in doubt call the parents and then nurse on call etc, if you are unable to get onto the parents

  • Hoping you did call and everything was fine. But yes. I’d always call them. Better safe than sorry.

  • If you ever notice anything out of the ordinary, especially when it’s someone elses child you should always mention it to the parents just to be safe 🙂

  • What was the outcome I am wondering?
Hopefully you contacted the parents at the time and they sought medical advice.

  • Whoa! A thousand percent call the parents and probably even call the ambulance to see if they need to be rushed to hospital as that doesn’t sound good at all.

  • You definitely should mention that to parents.

  • Yes I would contact the parents on any form of vomiting and describe what you have observed. Jelly like clear substance could be mucus

  • See a GP!

  • Yes, absolutely. I’ve never heard of a kid throwing up a jelly like substance. If it was your own kid, I”d be saying go to a doctor with some urgency.
