Hello!

“Tying to calculate my budget. Does anyone know how many nappies my baby will need per month (newborn)?” Do you know what you should budget for nappies?

  • It’s hard to say but at a guess I’d budget for 1.5 big boxes a fortnight so 3 boxes a month.

  • Mamia or snuggler

  • On average 6 nappies per day, so say around 180 nappies per month. The prizes differ but when you go to the supermarket you can compare the prizes per nappy and make your choice.

  • Some babies get bad nappy rash from some brands. Obviously the materials used in different brands vary.

  • I used cloth nappies for about 80% of the time so it really helped to save on costs even though it was more work washing and drying them.

  • I used to buy in bulk when they have sales on such as in supermarkets and pharmacies. You will need them everyday , day and night and when you go out so even if you buy 4-8 bags it will be used quickly .

  • It does depend upon the baby and always having plenty on stock is a good idea. Always have back up as you will always need them!

  • For newborn nappies I only purchased 1 box of ‘Huggies’ nappies because people bought boxes for me as baby shower gifts and now I buy the Coles brand ‘Comfy Bots’ nappies because for only $11 I get a pack of 56 nappies and I have found they are better than the expensive brands. I would recommend them to all mums.

  • My hubby laughed and said it depends on how much they poop…i said thanks hon your a real help..lol…But he is kinda right i would think 6 to 10 a day

  • A large box of 160 Newborn Huggies would last about 3.5 weeks and cost is $50. Depending upon birth weight and early weight gain bub may not stay in that size for long at it is up to 5kg and so don’t stock up too much in advance.

  • I wait until they are on sale as woollworths and grab a few boxes all at once

  • newborn anppies are really cheap. get homebrand ones

  • Endless, the amount of nappies you will need is endless ; )

  • It can very from day to day.

  • The amount of nappies can vary, depends also on how often you change them.

  • How did your budget go?

  • At least 10 nappies a day

  • hope you managed to get your budget sorted

  • A-Edwards she doesn’t mean the price of each individual nappy! Original poster, I always used to wait until they were on sale at Big W (quite often) and would stock up while they were cheap, $29 per box.

  • Per Nappy that’s a tough question? But woollies have good prices
