3 Years old is a good age to go to the Zoo they just so inquisitive at that age

We took our 18 month old to Taronga Zoo but I doubt it meant much to her. We took her again when she was about six years of age and she loved it.

I think that depends on the interests of your little one. If they LOVE animals then I’d probably take them at 2.

I’ve been multiple times with little ones – as a tiny baby (more for photos and as a family outing) once about 12 -18 months when they are showing more interest and again at around 2-3 years

I think kids of all ages get something out of the zoo. Either looking at the animals or hearing them. It’s always exciting and you can teach them things according to their levels – so for little ones you can teach them the names of the animals. For toddlers you could teach them the name of the animal and their sound and colours, for older kids you could talk about the habitat, what they eat etc.

We first started going when my daughter was 15 months. She loved it. We have zoo memberships so we sometimes just pop into healesville sanctuary for a few hours. She is not far off 3 has been to Melbourne zoo 3 times, werribee once, and healesville humorous times

We took our daughter to the Werribee zoo two months before she was to turn two. She loved it! We didn’t make it through all the park as she got tired!

I took my daughter age 2 and she loved the animals but got tired quick and didn’t remember much. at age three she was better able to understand the animals and showed more interest, she could ask questions and gain a good knowledge and experience.
I took my three year old and my one year old and I could clearly see the interest. Try a wildlife park also, they get to feed and touch some animals, its a beautiful experience.

I think 2yrs onward when they can recognise the animals, say their names & make their sounds

long time ago at about 3 it is true lovely seeing them looking at incredible live animals and close up too. Improved the zoo’s fantastic for animals too, lots more room and things for them odo. Hope your kids love it too. The native bird show in Sydney is great experience to view think it is on twice a day, check worth seeing I Loved it so true

I think any age over 2, they seem to find it more intresting and understand about the animals more. I took my 3 kids a few weeks ago and they are 3,5 and 7. They all loved if for different reasons and were excited by the animals although my 5 year old daughter got scared of some of the orangatags as they came right up to the glass on the enclosure to say hello. She didnt understand we were safe. While the other 2 kids were thrilled to get so close.

I took my niece when she was 4. She loved it very interested in the animals and asked lots of questions. She was at the right age to understand the basics of the animals.

I think 1+ years because they are able to interact more.

If you go any younger they may just fall asleep and where is the excitment in that!

It is up to you, but if you take them when they are little make sure to take photos because they arent going to remember

I’m thinking 6 or 7. I took my 2 when they were 2 and 5. The then 2 year old has no memories and the then 5 year old has minimal. So maybe needed to be a little older, they thoroughly enjoyed the day though, when it was happening
