We changed when he started climbing out of hte cot and we were afraid he would fall on his head. This happened a bit before 2 years old. Many of my mothers groups friends didn’t put their kids in a toddler bed until after they were 3.

My boy has always cried in the cot. So we gave a big bed a go at like 18 months and he’s loved it. He can climb out himself now St the end of nap time. But whatever suits your family and house!

For all three of my kids it was at different times… We kept the first in the cot for longer but that was due to his health at the time.. He slept a lot so we didnt move him out till was 2 and a half, Our second was at about 2 yr old as she was a climbing very mobile kid.. And our youngest was even younger He was more alert and demanded to be treated like the older kids..

I personally waited until they were climbing out before I changed my 2 eldest children. For my daughter it wasn’t until she was 3 & 2 months but for my son it was when he had just turned 2!

My daughter was three when i moved her into a toddle bed and we had no problems. She was in a toddle bed when she stayed at her dads house and he had no problems either. We both just said thats shes growing up and got a new bed. She was so excited to be growing up.
