We did it about 6 months, we were told to do it then so we did. Just because they want to see outwards and look around.

Both my children were turned around at 6 months. They were both horrible car travellers, and as soon as they were front facing, could see us, watch dvds etc, they became a lot happier. The recommendations may show that its safer rear facing for as long as possible, but for me, it was safer for them to be front facing, and not screaming. I was worried I was going to get distracted and have an accident. Just do what you think is best for you!
