When do you want your children to leave home?

Hello!

At what age or stage of life do you want or expect your children to leave home? My sisters boys still at home in their 20’s. I want mine independent by then. What are your thoughts.

I will be happy for them to stay as long as possible and as long as there is harmony in the household! 😉

Its a totally individual answer and depends on circumstance and everyones is different. For example if you are still studying and have no or extremely low part time income then it may be impossible to get money together to afford rent, deposits etc. But if you are fortunate and have a good regular income then you would be able to fund yourself a lot easier.

I left home at 19 but just because I wasn’t very happy at home.

It depends on if they are studying/saving towards goals.
