Baby lead weaning all the way. Normal food from 6 months, no purée and let them bring it to their mouth so no spoon feeding

From six months on you could make a lot of foods as long as they are pureed.

It’s been that long ago that I don’t remember. I’d ask a health nurse.

My kids were 4 months when I introduced solids. They were having regular health checks at that age and when they weren’t gaining as much weight and I explained they weren’t settling very well, it was then suggested to introduce solids. I started with Farex, the cereal, and introduced new foods one at a time over several says mixed in with the cereal. This allows you to identify any allergies as they arise

I always did, I just mashed it or wizzed it up. So much easier than making two meals.

7-8 months my baby was munching chips

Let your baby lead you, if you think that bub is hungry a little farex mixed with either breast milk or formula is ok, a teaspoon or so to begin with, my twin sons were hungry babies and were eating pureed foods from about 4 mnths, but they got addicted to pureed foods and would not have anything with any lumps in it until they were about 8 mnths old, they would choke on yoghurt! My daughter who was 20 mnths younger would sit in a high chair at the table with us from about 4 mnths and demand to be fed, I would give her small amounts of vegies from my plate mashed with a fork, so lumpy and she loved it, never ate baby food, used to handle her own food, easiest baby ever, but she is still an independent person and very determined, so I think baby led feeding Is the way to go, no child has ever starved when food is available, and some want to have solids at 3 mnths and others at 8 mnths, they are all different, don’t stress about it.

I started our 6th baby on pureed food and perservered for a month but he just wouldn’t cooperate. I stumbled across Baby Led Weaning which is simply just self feeding and we have not looked back. Our now 7 month old is feeding himself meatballs, fritters, scones, pasta, toast, pieces of fruit. There is a fair amount of info on the internet and I did a lot of research first before taking a leap of faith. My baby is 9 months & she is almost eating what we eat. She eats a small amount of spaghetti mashed up. She eats Mac cheese, strawberries & alot of others but we only give her the amount of a 50 cent piece. She also munched on milk arrowroot biscuits or teddy biscuits. We started her on pouch food & I made my own homemade purees etc when she was 4 months. Doctors may say not to but I don’t agree. My daughter was very small & never put much weight on & this was a good way to fill her out plus she loved it compared to just breastmilk all the time. My now 3 year old exactly the same & she still loves all her food

Generally you introduce foods one at a time to check for allergies etc.always wait a few days before introducing another new food. Start with just a teaspoon and work your way up to what they seem to want.
Start with bland foods and mushed vegies and fruit.
By the time they are 15-18 months you should have them eating nearly what you do although they may not like overly spiced or salty foods.

it depends on the child. they generally say formula fed babies can start solids earlier. if you are breastfeeding they recommend leaving food until at least 6 months. I started my kids around 3-4 months as they were formula fed and I would just give them a small mouthful or two to see if they would take it. If they take the food and don’t spit it back out then you can continue but sometimes you might give them something then have to wait a little while because they refuse it or spit it back up. A teaspoon is plenty to start and as they start to eat increase it every week or so.

It will depend on your baby, of they have enough teeth to chew and swallow properly.

My son started on solids (mushy foods) from 4mths old. I think we started him on actual meals at about 8mths or so. He would mostly mess around with the foods though, so perhaps it may have still been a bit too soon, he loved it though and still got used to the different flavours.

It really depends in if ur baby is willing to taste a tiny bit

This will all depend on the individual child! some babies are ready before others, traditional its anywhere between 4 and 6 months, but it is really only about getting them used to textures and flavours at this early age!

It all depends on the child, if they have teeth,if they can chew everything up etc.. Speak to your health care nurse and GP just to check everything .

I started giving my son solid when he’s around 4 1/2 month, he took it very well. I think all babies are different, they will let you know when they are ready

No earlier than 17 weeks as their digestive systems isn’t ready to cope with food but they say food under one is just for fun so if your baby isn’t ready it’s ok. Every bub is different but as a mum you will know when it’s time!!

I’ve heard 6 months for baby food and then it goes on from there 🙂

My bub is nine months but she dosen’t like to eat my food . She has two teeth and sometimes when I am eating I try to put a lil bit in her mouth but she spits it out. I guess she is not ready yet.but My first bub was at this age. It depends if your bub accepts it just try it
