I breastfed all 6 of my children till they didn’t want the breast anymore, they did have other liquids and on solids. My eldest I breastfed him for 2½years . it’s really up to you or baby.

I stopped at 14 months and switched baby to cow milk

about 14-15months. but now they reckon you are supposed to do it until they are 2 years old but it is up to you as to how long you do this for. Breastfeeding around work schedule isn’t easy so props to you.

I had to go back to work with my first at 9 months and still breast feed her until 21 months just expressed during lunch so I wasn’t uncomfortable and fed her just before I left in the morning and as soon as I got home in the afternoons and she fed during the day on my express milk that I expressed the day before.

I feed mine up to the age of 12 to 18 months for my three kids, although once they were 12 months old i just did the night time feed as they settled a lot easier and i let them stop when they wanted to go to a cup at night or they started really hurt when they bite me.

I breastfed my daughter till she was 1 year and 1 week old. The pediatrician told me that after 11 months there is no actual need to breastfeed anymore. But I think you have to find the best moment for you to stop. For me it was because by that time I was breastfeeding her just in the evening, and it was actually just to help her falling asleep. I thought it was the right time for the two of us to stop. And it was. My daughter didn’t cry and we found different ways to help her fall asleep! 🙂

I wouldn’t be listening to MOM81879! You should continue to feed your baby as long as you want to. Eight or Nine months is still so young so please don’t follow advice like that. Listen to your mummy instinct and if you are both enjoying it then continue as long as you like.

I breast fed my first 2 until 12 months, baby 3 until 15 months, and baby 4 until 19 months. I worked fulltime with the first 3, expressing at work so baby could have EBM, and continuing feeding when I was at home. As they got older, they replaced daytime feeds with solids, and so only had 1 night time feed and 1 morning feed. I let the younger three kids decide when to wean themselves (had pressure from well-meaning family to stop feeding baby one at 12 months, otherwise would have fed another few months). Best of luck with your baby – keep feeding as long as you both feel comfortable.

I think it’s a personal decision, do it for as long as you feel comfortable xx

It was different with each of my kids, and there were different reasons for stoppiing with each. Just do what feels right to you.

my son is 11 months and I breastfeed him 3 or 4 times day. I am about to return to work so he is going to be getting a morning and night breast feed and then a bottle of ebm when at daycare.
I am going to express once when I am at work and then gradually wean him by the end of the year.

Until,they no longer need it. Which is usually when they’re getting most of their nutrients from solids, approx eight nine months or so
