Hello!

Our house uses LPG for hot water only and we go through 2 x 45kg bottles every 3 months costing us over $250. I was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere cheaper to get LPG (we are on the south side of Brisbane). Thanks.

  • Is there any chance there might be a leak somewhere? If you’re thinking your usage is extravagant, there might be other issues at play that don’t require a new supplier to fix

  • Hope you manage to find one that suits you

  • Have u found any places? What about asking ur friends!

  • Oh that sounds a little expensive

  • I would think that’s expensive.

  • it is amazing how the prices differ. you need to shop around.

  • Luke Woodward I think this the right link

  • Elgar has $105, mention to Origin and they’ll match it. Perhaps look at switching to an on demand gas heater with an electric starter instead of a pilot light. We has a storage tank style and switched and it has saved up heaps.

  • ours is about the same in WA $124 a bottle

  • Supagas not sure of their pricing but in SA there $99 each if you pay cod

  • Try kleenheat. I get my cooking gas bottles through there and they were a good price.

  • i wish i had a bottle. one bottled lasted me 10 months for hot water and stove. now i am piped into origin and it costs me $110 a quarter just for hot water.

  • We have gas hot water through agas and the bottles are $120. Usually lasts us about 4months for two adults and a baby.

  • We use Elgas. $105 per bottle & 1 bottle lasts our home around 6 months with 4 people for hot water :)

  • Hi natasha , I live in country wa and have LPG for hot water and cooking and only use 1 x 45 kg bottle every 12 weeks. We are a family of 5. I would check the temp setting on your water as this can make a huge difference on the amount you use.
