Hello!

I’m due to have our second baby soon and when they arrive my little girl will be 20mths, I currently have a Baby Jogger city mini GT, Will I need to buy a new double pram or can I get away with my current one and using either a baby carrier for my new born or a skate board or something for my daughter?

  • I found a double pram very helpful, especially when out shopping

  • We had a double pram and probably only used it half a dozen times. You can definitely get away with not having one.

  • I got s double pram :) helped a lot as I like to go for long walks

  • My suggestion would have been the same as jabelle.

  • your daughter will love the skateboard, but will also need to snooze I imagine. You can hire devices, this may be a better option x

  • My oldest two are about 21 months apart as I had no transport except public I used a sling for the baby and put my toddler in the pram. Fun when shopping or using buses. Later on my toddler loved to walk so the baby was able to use the pram, I have no idea how we did it as we would walk sometimes up to 2km as the bus only can twice a day. Later when I had number 3 still the same pram but this time I had a harness on the oldest and the others in a sling and pram. Glad number 4 had a big break as only needed a pram for her. The twins well that needed a double pram. Some prams will come with a toddler seat , my oldest hated it so sold it as was only having the two children.

  • It’s going to be what suits you. We use 2 strollers. One is a full on layback etc the other is for the toddler if we need it.

  • I just got one of those skateboard attachments for my pram with a seat on it. My son was 18 months old when my second was born.

  • Children are all different and their preferences are different. Atm my daughter likes being in the pram, hoping that doesn’t change. I always consider what would I do if my toddler ran off while I have another in the pram, obviously chase them but always fearful of cars and my child getting lost

  • do you use your pram much? I think maybe a double as they are close in age. maybe a strider or city select style?

  • For now I think you’d be ok just to use a sling for bubba and keep toddler in the pram. Can you connect a toddler seat to your existing pram?

  • You should be right without a double pram:)

  • I had two at that age, I didnt get a double pram as I feared I couldnt stroll or fit in the shops lol

  • I had three children in three years I bought a tandem Limo pram. The new born lays/sits in the back and the front can be used up to three years old. I liked mine as the handle was able to be locked into front or back pushing. I liked to see my kids at all times. Side-by-side were too wide to get around in shopping centers. The tandem did not take up any more room when shopping and packing it away in your car.

  • there are some good comments here

  • might be better with a double but no harm in trying the skateboard first

  • its so much easier with a double pram

  • Double pram all the way! I did it with my kids 17 months apart and even now 3.5 years apart, plus you never know if another one might come after.

  • Did you end up getting a double?

  • lots of good answers, depends on how independant your little girl is, how much she likes the pram etc, a removable second seat sounds great.
