Hello!

My kids eat yoghurt like it is going out of fashion, so to save money I thought I might purchase a yoghurt maker. Has anyone else bought one? What are your experiences with them? Which brand did you buy? Thanks

  • I have an Easiyo yoghurt maker, it is very easy to use and can buy bthem in the supermarket along with the yoghurt bases. My only problem is the supermarket dioes not carry some of my favourite flavours like lemon, toffee, caramel and the custard flavour, but i order these from Golden Glow. You can also use the Hassel bases in this yoghurt maker as wel, I hope this helps.

  • I’ve bought the Easiyo yogurt maker, and it is very easy to use. However, my kids don’t like the yogurt. The texture varies and the vanilla is very sticky. I’ve tried different brands and found that more often than not is gets wasted as it really isn’t as nice as bought yogurt. Having said that, it is great in smoothies etc, but not so much to eat as is. Also there are lots of recipes for making yogurt on line that might be worth investigating. Usually they involve heating milk and adding about a teaspoon on bought yogurt and after about 6-8 hours you have a new batch of yogurt. You can then flavour it with fruit etc. Might be worth a try before you buy a yogurt maker. Another point is that the yogurt powder you buy to make the yogurt isn’t that cheap so you don’t really save that much for your trouble. Good luck experimenting and if you find a great recipe please post.
