Hello!

I a few weeks back shared with you all of my excitement expecting our third baby, I then updated everyone as I had fallen ill struck down by severe morning sickness, and swine flu as well as gastro and food poisoning all that lead upto my first ultrasound. During which I was informed there was no heartbeat despite growth measuring perfect :( heartbroken I headed home to “mis carry” naturally at home. Weeks passed and I felt no loss, no pain, no blood, to hard to come to terms with following another scan there was still no heartbeat and no sign that I will mis carry naturally. I travelled 100ks to my nearest “big” hospital to have a d&c. Now I can come to terms with my loss but would love for anyone whos been through this to share their story as I have never heard of this happening to anyone.

  • I’m very sorry for your loss. Similar happened to me. At 10 week ultrasound I was told there was no heartbeat, but that baby had probably died at about 5 weeks. I had no signs of this til tenth week and still “felt” pregnant. Also had a d and c. I was lucky enough to become pregnant again two months later and had a healthy baby. I wish you well.

  • I am so sorry. I have heard of this happening to others. It must be so hard. I lost a son at 37 weeks, so I have some understanding of your pain.

  • Firstly let my say I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your baby. Just wondering if you were given info re: support group like SANDS? Perhaps they can help you find answers, support & closure

    • No I didn’t but thank you for that, all I received was a bill from the doctor for missing a follow up appointment bit sad.

      • That’s a terrible thing to happen in the midst of all of your grief to receive a bill. My friend had this happen and while she was waiting for a D&C she started to miscarry naturally. I have known of this happening to a couple of people. I feel so sorry for your loss. Very kind of you Damish70 to provide advice and support referral.

  • I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. I haven’t been through the same situation myself (I lost a baby but different circumstances) but feel your pain. Take care of yourself.
