When your child is born, you dream of him being extremely smart and successful,..overcoming anything in his path,…becoming someone everyone looked up to and loved. Then the day comes when you realize your son is not talking to you or making sense,..he does silly things like piling all the blankets and pillows in the middle of the living room floor to hide in it. He repeats himself 20 times over even when you responded the first time he said something….Then the day comes when the doctor tells you “Your son has Autism. He will need intense speech, occupational, and behavioural therapies to be able to speak to you or dress himself. School will be challenging because he also has ADHD.”
~~ Then you have that momentary feeling of paralysing fear for him,..But after a little time has passed you realize something. He has shown you your dreams for him are as real as his love for you. He IS extremely smart and successful,…he IS overcoming anything in his path and IS someone everyone looks up to and loves. He IS a blessing in every way.. “
