build a bear - Real Mum story on MoM

We have the build a bear workshop at our local shopping centre, for the school holiday, so I thought I would take miss 2.5 down for a bit of fun. It started at 9.30. We got there at 9.25 and the queue was huge. We stood in it for at least 15 minutes, miss 2.5 had no idea why we were there but she was quite patient for a while. I realised it was going to be at least an hour wait, so we left.
Pity they don’t allow you to book, I know a lot of other parents left before we did.

Booking would make life a lot easier, when my daughter was that young I would play eye spy while we waited and keep her busy so she did not realize that we were waiting. Hopefully you get a chance to take her again.

Giving the option to book, would make life so much easier. It’s just a too long wait for young kids.

well i also think that the people running this know it is the school holidays so the demand will be huge! They need more space, more stations and more staff! It is a novelty and people love their children being able to make a bear and make a memory and it is so dissapointing to kids to have to miss out because the lines are too long.

There are shops where you can do this (depending where you live obviously) perhaps you could google it and see if there is one in your town. Disappointing when something like this happens though.

I was thinking of taking my daughter to do that event at our local shopping centre tommorow. But if the queue is that long there is no way we would be stand in it and she is 5. I will have to think of something else just in case.

Build a bear is great but i find it quite expensive also.

I would have walked past and suggested to them that next time, they have bookings.
We love those build a bear stalls, but the massive lines are a killer

yes this is the same story that happened to us! but at christmas time! the lines were so big! i thought that it would be easier to go and let my kid pick a bear or any other toy.

Great idea about the books etc. I read that some people waited 2 hours. I would rather play outside

I know, waiting with kids is often almost impossible.
