Hello!

I never sent my daughter to preschool because it was just way too much money and I was home to enjoy the time with her anyway. I got a lot of slack for this from family and friends who said that kids MUST go to preschool for a year before school or they will not adjust to ‘big’ school and will fall behind academically. I knew my daughter was smart and I taught her ABC’s and how to count to 100. She also played with neighbourhood children everyday, so I knew socially, she wouldn’t have a problem.

However, I always kept everybody’s comments in the back of my mind and worried daily when she started kindergarten this year. I got her report card back yesterday. A’s in English and maths and high in every other subject. Her teachers said she is doing great and we really couldn’t of asked for a better report. I finally feel like I have not done a bad job as a parent and that my daughter really is as amazing as I thought.

  • I’m so pleased you feel great about this! My daughter is very similar and people wondered what I was doing all day with her – teaching her!
