Hello!

I really enjoy doing long stitch but lately I just can’t seem to find the time. I have some great kits waiting to go but it takes some organising. I am not game enough to get out all of the wool as I am sure Little Miss Two will mix it all up. I am also addicted to ebay – cheap things off ebay with free postage. I found a lovely little Winnie the Pooh kit but it was cross stitch. I’ve had it here for about a week. Pouring rain and Little Miss taking a nap I took the opportunity to get started. It isn’t as hard as I thought and I am enjoying the way it is coming together. I’ve ordered three more little project kits with frames (piglet, pooh and tigger) which will go nicely in my daughters room. I’d almost forgotten how much fun working with thread can be :)

  • I think about taking up a craft while bub is sleeping, then i look at a cupboard and decide to rearrange it. Having a baby has allowed me to get our home life in organisational order.

  • I’ve always loved cross-stitch, and I’ve done lots over the years, especially when I worked on cruise ships, as it was something I could do in my cabin. Hard to do now because arthritis in my hands, and eye-sight problems, means it’s really difficult. Don’t leave it until you’re “old & grey” to do things like this, as you may find that by then, your body will have issues that prevent you doing the embroidery.

  • Winnie the Pooh sounds adorable. I did a lovely bear with balloons project many years ago that is in my sons room. Sadly I didn’t finish one of the Peter Rabbit projects I had and somehow ran out of or lost some of the thread in a move. Luckily I had mum on hand to make a beautiful birth sampler for my son that I proudly hang in the hallway near his bedroom. Here is just a snippet of it.

  • I haven’t cross-stitched in years- my life is just too busy. Perhaps when I’m old & grey I’ll pick up the needle & thread again

  • I love cross stitch, but since having a stroke last year – when my daughter was 4 weeks old – well, the combination of serious illness and new baby means I haven’t done any for nearly 18 months.
