Hello!

I am sitting here writing this and I just wanted to share, Melbourne weather sucks. It is raining and the wind is crazy. Oh how I wish I was somewhere sunny today, at least I am in doors. Has anyone else noticed that it always gets crazy at school pickup time? I would love to hear about your weather today.

  • Melbourne weather in Winter does get cold but we usually have a blast of sunshine in the day to pick us up!

  • ‘Murphy’s Law'; pickup from school weather should have its own forecast! ;)

    • The weather also changes whenever you have washed the car! ;)

  • Oh no Tilly we had another freezing day down here on the Vic Coast and I believe I heard hail at some stage while I was inside working.

    • Lucky you were inside and not stuck with a window down lol. Today again we have some sunshine but still very fresh outside. let’s hope summer hits early.

  • Yep, school pick up definitely brings out the wind and rain.

  • I have just moved to Melbourne from QLD and with 2 daughters (9 and 2) we have had to find alot of indoor games to play and unfortunately TV watching has increased. We had a pool in QLD and heaps of outdoor fun things, now it is just too cold and the playground is always wet. I feel your pain.

  • Well I’m in Adelaide & we are expecting snow to fall (not bucket down to ski on, it’s Adelaide after all) but that’s how cold this weather front is that swept our state today. And without a doubt or as Murphy’s Law goes..it always rains at school pick up!!

  • Yep this morning I wound the electric window down to remind my son to be a good boy at school and farewell him as I always do as he walks through the gate and low and behold the window wouldn’t go back up. With severe weather warnings and having to go to work and park my car in a car park there I had to tell work I was getting the RACV out to fix the window. Luckily I got a great guy really quickly who was an ex A grade engineer and was able to identify the problem quickly. Turns out the people who fixed my car door last time after an elderly lady had crashed into me hadn’t put the screws into the part of the window mechanism that holds it in place and the whole time it was just sitting on a runner. That was all fine and I got to work an hour late but they were ok with it. That was until after dinner when my kind neighbour who I had never met knocked on the door to tell me our trampoline was halfway over their fence. I had mowed the lawn and forgotten to put the tent pegs in the bottom last time to secure it down. Her husband kindly came over the fence in the freezing weather to help me get it back over and secure it down by taking the mesh cage down as that acts as a sail in gale winds and I put the tent pegs in plus brick on the legs and on top of the mesh. Being in a coastal area of vic we have copped it a few times this year. Certainly some wild weather and happening today. I drive a tiny car so I’m also a bit worried about the impending hail tomorrow lol!

    • You poor thing, lucky it wasn’t hailing with the window down. Yes I hate driving in that type of weather as well and I have a big car.

  • I’m in Melbourne too! It was sunny…this morning ;) It was like four seasons in one day today as it was lovely in the morning (Spring/Summer) and then it got a little colder (Autumn) and then we had full blown Winter. Tomorrow is meant to be the coldest day of the year!
