Hello!

I was reading an article about mental health issues and thought I would share the information with this community. One in four people will at some point in their lives face a mental health issue. This may be depression or anxiety or other mental health issues. People may also suffer with physical symptoms such as aches and pains, headaches, gastrointestinal problems, fatigue, weakened immune system and even heart issues. Let’s all look out for friends and family and everyone within our reach with mental health issues. Sending big hugs and well wishes to anyone that is currently suffering with any mental health issues.

  • I have had a severe panic disorder for 7 years now. It can be absolutely debilitating. You take everything for granted, just leaving the house, especially by yourself.

  • This is a really important issue for all of us at some point in our lives.

  • yeah people tend to take more on board and they are missing out on these personal interactions. Maybe having a really good chat to someone will help you out or help you realise that you need help. Mental issues are easy to miss because you usually can’t look at someone and see their sadness. Or you might undervalue their reactions and dismiss it as being normal etc.

  • Mental illnesses are so spread indeed. But often we don’t realize it, because people hide them. I hope more and people will be able to express their feelings and find empathy and help in our society.

  • It is not unusual because society places so much pressure on ourselves and it is either pressure from work , unemployment , families , business , friends and the list goes on . We need to support each other more as an individual and community .

    • There is a lot of pressure and we definitely do need to support each other!

  • Agreed. Too many people suffer in silence and when seek support from families and friends get the ‘just get over it’ attitude. We really do need to fully support and look out for each other – great reminder.

    • The “just get over it” attitude is sad and if only it was that ‘easy’ for people. Knowing people that suffer with this issue, it is not easy, it is a daily struggle at times.
