Hello!

Hi everyone, my name is Chenny and I am a 24 year old mother of three under 5!! My eldest will be 5 in July and is currently in prep/kindergarten. They are a handful but I enjoy every moment with them. I am also a student teacher, studying the Bachelor of Education (primary) online via curtin uni of tech. I just recently moved to the Gold Coast from Sydney. I am amazed with how different the atmosphere here is compared with Sydney. There is so much family activities, the roads are wide and there is a lot of open space.

I swear by routine, I do have a few odd days but sticking to routine helps me get everything done. Having time to myself helps me to get though everyday stresses and keeps me healthy and active. I cant stress more the importance of educating children from a young age and how important it is to set a proper example for your children as your attitude and behaviour in the home and with other people with be reflected in your own children.

My children love Dr Seuss, and playing their leapster explorers, which I highly recommend as an educational and age appropriate alternative to the iPad. The children learn so much from it such as letter recognition and mathematics, even my two year old can work it and play the games!

It hasn’t been all smooth riding, my youngest is also very clingy which is why I have put my studies on hold for a year or two. He has got a severe over turn when he walks so I have to carry him almost everywhere unless he is in his pram. The point is our children are only small once and we should embrace every opportunity with them. The way we raise them will shape their future.

  • I adore toys which are fun and educational.
For little ones things such as brightly coloured caterpillars with either the alphabet or numbers are favourites. First they learn the colours before learning numbers and letters of the alphabet. Fridge magnets with the alphabet on them fascinated our kids in putting numbers in order, the alphabet for spelling their and other peoples names. You need at least 2 sets of the alphabet.
