My 12 y/o son has had his fair share of trouble as far as mental health goes. With all the meltdown in public and private and all the hospital visits for violent outbursts i dont know how he has come through it so well… Well last night while at a Karaoke Venue i had such a proud moment when 2 different woman came and praised my son. These woman have both known my son since he was about 6, they have seen him at least once a week in that time, so its fair to say as outsiders they have seen what my son has gone through. Well last night the first lady took me aside and congratulated me on a wonderful young man, he is kind, caring and very courteous. I had to tell her it wasnt all my doing, my son needs to take most of the praise for all the hard work he has put into kerbing his temper. The next lady, my son calls nan, also commented on my sons manners, she was full of praise. Nan and her husband have been great for my son, they take the time to talk to him every week and have always got cuddles for him… They have taught him how to respect his elders, and they dont even know it was them. Its these moments that erase all those hard times, it gives me the best feeling in the world, i am so proud of my little man he is growing up in more ways then one.
