My 5 year old grandson was visiting and as it was a hot day I said “Dylan you need a drink of water as it is very hot”.
He answered ” that’s OK grandma I had watermelon and there is water in that”.
What could I say they know so much

  • Well he is right, but you should remind him he should also drink some plain water – as when we sweat we become hot and we need to replace the fluid. I pour my kids a water or give a water bottle throughout the day and encourage a sip here and there. It helps if you drink too, a nice cup of cold water mmm. I take a water bottle from the freezer every morning, my kids love that and I do too

    • Dylan attends a group called “Mighty Rugby” which is absolutely fantastic for children and when they are playing the games they are also encouraged to have a drink of water about every 20mins. So he is learning how important it is to also have a drink

  • Lol that is cute. I remember taking my half French son to Aldi and he wanted to buy some French Fry frozen chips, to which I replied “I like the straight cut better, don’t you think?” He replied “Well mummy I am French, shouldn’t I have French Fries?” Lol, he was only a tiny boy at the time but I have never forgotten it!
