Hello!

During the school holiday’s we often have our niece and nephew come over to have some time with their cousins, they play in our paddock, chase chickens and keep my two little ferals excited and occupied.

We like to treat them a little so we had quite a busy week visiting a play centre then organise to go for a night at the movies.

We took them for dinner first then headed on over to the cinema

There we 6 of us so it was by no means a cheap night out by the time we paid to go then got popcorn and drinks.

Entering the cinema I was disgusted, there was popcorn everywhere and I m everywhere.

Thick piles under every row of seats, ON our chairs, to the point we actually had to clean them off to sit down and the armrests were sticky. (gross)

We had 4 excited kids ranging from 3-9 so we didn’t get up and leave and at the end of the movie I had a yr old busting for the toilet and it was 9pm so I didn’t complain but DP did get a photo of the floor.

Yesterday I sent e-mail to head office saying how disappointed I was, I know it’s school holiday’s but it was disgusting.

The branch manager called me back and I advised I don’t mind seeing popcorn on the floor in small amounts (it’s expected) t this was ridiculous, If I wanted to sit in a mess & sticky gunk i’d let my kids eat some lollies, throw popcorn on the floor and not pay over $80 for it.

She thanked me for making the complaint even more so as the managers on that night assured her everything was spotless and has left us comp tickets to pick up next time we go there.

Sometimes a complaint is the feedback they really need to fix things, it’s not just whinging and sometimes it pays off in your favour.. not the result I was looking for but a bonus none the less :p

  • I think some people are getting too resistant to complaining or giving negative feedback to not be labelled a Karen, but I think it’s important when you’re a customer and spend a decent amount of money on something and are left wanting. I gave feedback to a restaurant that was just terrible. I wasn’t rude, just expressed disappointment. The owner called me back very appreciative, as they had just taken ownership and offered to comp our next visit. It was really appreciated, especially in a small town

  • One of ours hates going to the Movies as the volume is too loud and I have to agree with him. He sits with his fingers in his ears. last time I went by the end of the movie my ears were ringing and it lasted about an hour. I might add my hearing isn’t 100% so I hate to think how loud it really was.

  • Its not cheap to go to the movies and you’d like to think you could watch a movie in a comfortable, clean environment. I believe its worth complaining about something like that. A lot of the time its not to get something for nothing but just so those in charge are aware and they do what they can to ensure people want to go back.

  • yeah we should be alert and sense when to complain

  • You need to report that as they get paid to sweep the cinema after wvery movie so someone wasn’t doing their job.

  • Think those managers might be looking for a new job.

  • I think that with the amount of money we spend on cinema tickets they can do a little bit better with their upkeep of the theatres. My local one has the scummiest toilets, run down seats and sticky goo everywhere, not a very exciting experience!
