i wish that we lived in a society where we all looked out for each other and sincerley cared about each other. think about how far we could advance our lives if we had a whole neighbourhood or community backing and supporting us and our decisions. i think that we are evolving into a selfish society.

i have been really touched by random acts of kindness and i remember the kind strangers who perform these. for an example- i was at the supermarket and loaded up with kids and groceries and the shop was so full of people! my baby was starting to fuss and i am thinking that i just wanted to get out of there. a worker was walking past and asked me if i would like to go with her because she was going to open up a register for me and even pushed my trolley to my car!

another time at the supermarket, i was again, loaded with children and groceries and was holding my child when i dropped my phone and a nice guy walked over really quick to pick it up for me.

i really appreciate those kind acts because it is the smallest gestures but it helped me out and made me feel happy for the day.

my hubby is the type of person that will go out of his way to help others. where i live, has a lot of older people in it. heaps of these people use scooters for transport and heaps of times, they misjudge their scooter’s battery life! so a few times now, my hubby has stopped and helped and given these people a ride where they have to go and he has a ute so he ill chuck their scooter on that.

he does help old ladies too and one really memorable event that i will leave you with is this– it was pouring rain, in the cbd and my hubby saw an old lady and she was stuck trying to lift her walker up a gutter. hubby crossed the street to help her. An older gentlemen sitting at a nearby cafe, called out to my hubby and said thankyou so much for helping that lady because she had been stuck there for about 15mins and the elderly gentleman was too frail to help her and he was saying how all these young people and people in business suits were WALKING AROUND HER and not caring as she was asking for help.

So my point is that , while it might cost you two seconds to help a stranger, they will remember that for the rest of their life

  • I think the world is a much better place if everyone shared a couple of little random acts of kindness every day

  • Thanks for sharing your thoughts; I love giving and also receiving random acts of kindness.

    • Maybe everyone one needs to “pass it on/forward”. :)

  • I agree, it’s not hard to help someone else out and it usually leaves you feeling good.

  • Yes, I too remember vividly some small acts of kindness.

  • I agree, we are as a society becoming self absorbed and refusing to help anyone because there is nothing in it for us.
    which is really sad.
