  • I has to be the plum pudding using Lurpac unsalted butter of course, love that I can get to eat it twice a year

  • Potato Gratin Stacks; so delicious and always a popular side-dish. Comforting food for cold Christmas in July. So versatile; you can add flavours and spices.

  • SHORTBREAD.
or as my family like to make; “LARGEBREAD”
It’s three times the size of regular shortbread with twice as many lollies.
That way I can write in my diet logbook I only had one biscuit. Sounds sooooo much better than having three.
Takes a lot of Lurpak though.

  • A nice juicy Lamb roast with lots of roasted vegies. Followed with a self saucing pudding, what a great way to have the family all over to celebrate

  • I love a good lamb roast – hot or cold – perfect for any celebration.

  • Turkey any which way. I feel the only time I eat it is at Christmas. Why oh why.

  • A steaming hot roast! Because what is better at this time of year, and because it reminds me of Christmas, my favourite time of year!!

  • Christnas pudding with yummy hot custard

  • Roast Turkey with roast vegetables, served with cranberry sauce. A lovely hot Christmas dish just perfect fora white (or cold July) Christmas – otherwise it’s too hot in December! Finished with a warm Christmas pudding with brandy cream.

  • Pork vindaloo with salads and rice or bread ..simple and tasty

  • Scotch Eggs, Yorkshire Pudding and spinach, peas and mint salad. Not forgetting the pickled eggs and baby cucumbers. The gravy is always the heavenly onion gravy smoothed out with tonnes and tonnes of butter. For dessert – we cant miss the Victoria Sponge!

  • Our family favourite Christmas in July dish is smokey BBQ ribs marinated for 2 days and slow roasted in the oven for 2.5hours until it is falling off the bone accompanied with creamy, buttery and garlicky potato mash and grilled broccolini. Delicious!

  • Roast pork with crackling and a trifle – delicious and traditional, but I love it. Plenty of butter on rolls with the leftover pork – with the butter dripping from the hot pork.

  • Plum pudding and custard, it warms the tummy it’s the weather to eat it and I enjoy it more as it’s not a regular dish. To top it we have all the family around the table

  • Not a typical dish – but the first time I tried duck was a delicious curry, fresh and vibrant greens and a little heat!

  • All the desert choices because the best is always left for last.

  • All the desert options because desert is the best course (why it is last)

  • I am lucky to still have my Nan with us. She is of British heritage and still manages to make her special Christmas Pudding complete with special gold coated chocolate look a like pennies inside to keep up with her heritage and family tradition.

  • Orange & marmalade roast turkey with cranberry stuffing as it’s so easy to make, It tastes really great when you use all fresh ingredients and the recipe is found at https://www.taste.com.au/recipes/orange-marmalade-roast-turkey-cranberry-stuffing/19ed611a-d256-4671-beae-eadee7dee9ad?r=recipes/christmasinjuly&c=4e76d0c2-e091-4bf0-98b3-54b5475ad5fe/Christmas%20in%20july
