Hello!

Ok so not really a major issue and don’t get me wrong I am glad my son is reaching milestones but honestly, I can’t wait until he figures out how to get back onto his back! He does it constantly and gets quite perturbed and lets his annoyance be known in no uncertain terms until mum or dad come and turn him over. Not so bad during the day but it wakes him at night and usually results in his face & sheet being covered in the last feeds milk!
My 3 1/2 year old learnt both directions at once & so never had this issue (he tries to show the younger one how to roll back lol). Not sure if the “sick me up” is due to him having had reflux (say had as no screaming pain anymore & when not face planting no projectile). The wedge pillow doesnt work for him – he just won’t sleep withit so, my question is are there any tricks to teach him to roll the other way or do I just ride it out? As a bonus it’s additional tummy time.

  • Lots of floor time is the answer. And maybe less rescuing by mum and dad when he gets stuck

  • You could try moving his legs to encourage him to roll. He will get there

  • Try a swaddling!!

  • Try sleeping him in a sleeping bag or swaddling, this should prevent him flipping over.

  • he will learn in time 🙂

  • he is very young, he will learn. maybe you can help him learn by making a game of gently rolling him back and getting him to help?? 🙂

  • 4 months is too early to worry…

  • might take him a little bit to get used to being able to turn back. he get there

  • Won’t be long and he’ll be doing it with out any trouble.

  • have you had any luck?

  • Any luck with getting back onto his back yet?

  • He’ll get there soon enough 🙂

  • My daughter rolled tummy to back at 11 wks, then nothing for a month, then just the other week she started rolling both ways, now I can’t stop her! She is 4 1/2 months. Rolls everywhere, sits up pretty good by herself and us trying soooo hard to crawl 🙂

  • It won’t take that long and eventually he will learn to roll back onto his tummy, good luck and I hope he does it soon for your sake.

  • Its frustrating but honestly doesnt go on for that long.
Think of all the things your 3 and half year old can do now and how quickly that time went. before you know it this little guy will be walking.

  • My son did that at 4 mths old and crawled at 6 mths

  • Most babies learn to roll back to front first, then a few months later front to back. Most also throw up at that age when they roll onto their tummies. Lucky it’s summer for the washing! Hope Bubs learns to go tummy to back soon.

  • mine mustve come with the app preinstalled!

  • My daughter was the same, she learnt to roll onto her tummy at 10 weeks old so I had to stop swaddling. I kept showing her how to roll back, but in the end she learnt her own way by throwing her head back first and her body following! You probably just have to wait it out and keep turning him over until then

  • It won’t take long to work out on his own (but it will feel like a lifetime). My eldest did this (but thankfully not my youngest). The frustration is how they learn but until then poor you!
