Hello!

She only stays with me and no one else is allowed to carry her. She cries non-stop if I’m not around. What is the best way to manage her separation anxiety?

  • Dont separate. Try to get her ysed to not being held all the time.

  • I think if you have family or friends or someone you can spend time with regularly with bubs and gradually remove yourself from the room for periods of time. You simply cannot always be around your child 24/7 and bubs will need to find a way to self soothe as they grow.

  • This old chestnut… my daughter had it bad.. you just have to ride it out. If I had to leave her with my Mum for any reason or to go to midwives appointments I would have to sneak out, she would scream for about 5 mins then forget about me until I walked back in the door and then start screaming because I was back.. it stopped after a few months. I had to get her used to staying at nanny and pops house for when I had my now 3 month old so she would go there when my Mum would finish work and stay overnight once a month. Now she’s 15 months old and with COVID she’s become antisocial but she’s the separation anxiety has gone

  • As wuth everything it shall pass…just enjoy the cuddles as frustrating at it may seem at the moment!
