My first was breech so I had to have the gas and pethidine. My second was too quick for any pain relief. I remember asking and being told it was too late

i had an epidural with my first as i wasnt using the gas properly…. the epidural honestly didnt work… it maybe took a slight edge and maybe made it harder to push but i still felt everything.

Apparently some are reluctant to give them if you have back problems. Most Mums reckon they are fantastic. I hope they always put the epidural in the correct spot the first time. I know a Mum who had 3 and still none of them worked at all

I did 6 hours no pain relief then had an epidural. It was the best decision I ever made! Next time I will get one so much sooner. Gas did nothing.

Loved epidural. I was struggling with the contractions and gas did nothing to help. When the midwife told me the contractions needed to get more intense and more frequent for the next few hours at least I gave in and asked for epidural. It allowed me to rest and conserve energy for pushing. So worth it. The only potential issue is not being able to push properly but it’s still possible, I just had problems being my first baby. Even better that there is no pain.

I hear you girl. Two babies natural. Morphine only helped very slightly but makes you feel like vomiting. On the positive, recovery is heaps faster natural

Had not issue with it at all and actually helped me to enjoy the moment 🙂
