  • Read to them. Also try sensory play activities: moon sand, play dough, cold pasta, rice play, water play. There are heaps of ideas for this on Pinterest.

  • Goodness me, entertaining a 14 month old can’t be too hard. Everything is new and fascinating to them. Puzzles, books, a walk, a trip to the park, put on some music and just dance

  • get them outside and exploring the world. Toddlers that age love to touch every plant and smell every flower.
If the weather is yuck, maybe find a kindergym or playgroup to go to. My 2 loved these activities, especially being around other kids! good luck!

  • sand pit, making bottle instruments or going for a run in the park

  • how did you go? 🙂

  • Hope you managed to use some of these good ideas.

  • What did you end up choosing?

  • blocks, Duplo, dolls, prams, cars

  • painting, making play doh , drawing.

  • There are some really good plastic gym sets for this age, some have slides, tunnels and even low swings.

  • We just got a trampoline. I don’t know if that’s an option for you but it gives us hours of entertainment! You can put balls or toys in it for something different, use the underneath as a cubby, etc.

  • So many great ideas here. I also turn to google when I need some inspiration for new things to do with my kids.

  • a wide variety of short and easy activities as children lose interest soon

  • Music on, singing and dancing scribbling on butchers paper

  • You tube has great ideas for young kids and step by step too so easy for u

  • little, quick things. as they have a short attention span.

  • Good luck & remember small things amuse small minds my little man used to bang pots together lol or hit them with a spoon 😀

  • Get little inflatable pool & fill with colored balls, bubbles or bubble blowing machine, any toy that lights up and sings, paper & Pencils for colouring in and drawing mum a picture, play gym, playgrounds, singing & dancing especially with things like the wiggles, in coffs harbour is a place called tabatinga and its excellent for children has mini glow in the dark golf, lots of play equipment, a canteen type thing with hot & cold food as well as drinks lollies coffee for mums etc or the jungle bungle is great, painting is great too, sandpit is awesome, & playdough set is really good =)

  • bubbles, finger painting, playdough, take them for a walk in the backyard and show them the leaves, flowers, butterflies etc, a toy watering can filled with water and get them to water the grass, lay out a big piece of butchers paper and let them go crazy with crayons, give them some bowls and saucepans and spoons to ‘cook’ with.

  • I try to keep my 14 month old moving! As she is getting more confident with her toddling I let her roam around the house and explore for a short while… We then move on outside where she has a little go on her baby bike (a great time for me to hang the washing) then we come inside and she’ll spend a good half hour in her playpen (giving me some time in the kitchen) – Of course there are always trips out in the car and visits from friends… But I do find that if we are having a day at home so long as I vary what she is doing regularly she doesn’t get too easily bored 🙂
