Hello!

Advice for flights and accommodation for family trip to Thailand – My family and I (4) in total are planning our first over seas trip to go to Phuket this year. Flights are $3300 approx that’s not including accom. We are leaving from Perth. Is that expensive? What’s the best site to look into as I’m not sure on where to look for best flights and accom packages. Any info much appreciated thank you.

  • Personally, I would choose to holiday at home here in Australia. It’s cheaper and safer

  • We’ve just been to Thailand for a friends wedding. It’s so stunning over there, great photos!

  • I would seriously consider going through a travel agent, and make sure you have travel insurance too

  • there are some good comments here

  • Hope all went well with your trip

  • I think flightcentre compares prices of airlines

  • thanks for the advice HOPEFULLYHEIDI – will check that one out

  • How did your trip go?

  • What information did you really like and going to do?

  • I hope you find ideas that you like

  • I would go and speak to a couple of different travel agents and get some quotes to give yourself a guide

  • Great advice given- I hope you have a great time!

  • We went through a travel agent and I’m glad we did as when we got there the first place was nothing like it claimed to be and I had to ring my travel agent to change it. It would have been a nightmare to try and do it ourselves. We went through Jetset travel. We ended up staying at the Merlin Hotel in Patong. The beach was over one side of the hotel and the shopping and things you made need on the other. The hotel had plenty of pools for kids amongst others things, and was close to everything and fantastic value for money.

  • It seems a little bit expensive

  • Flight centre is a good place to start

  • Great question thanks for posting!

  • I usually use WebJet or Flight Centre to find flights, but then I book through the airline, because those sites are great for comparing but they add a booking fee.

  • Flight centre shows a range of prices from different companies.

  • I would do as much research as possible to find the best deals

  • I used Viva Holidays when we went to Thailand they are fabulous you can pay for everything before leaving Australia this includes meals, tours, accomodation etc
