Oh thank you for the reminder! I have been to a TAFE cut once about 7 years ago. It was to help a friend out who was studying hairdressing at the time. You are so right though, the expense of a hairdresser is insane right now. I have shoulder length hair, cut straight across, no fancy styling and get a colour all over ( no foils). Each time I went to the hairdresser it went up !! It got to $240 and I changed hairdressers. It is honestly an expense I try to stretch out more than ever now. I used to go to my local TAFE when I was younger but had forgotten about their beauty services. I would always get great haircuts by third year students. I will have to look into it again. Thanks for the reminder.

What a great idea and so cheap too. I can’t be bothered getting a hair cut or wasting that money (Mum with 4 kids and a part time income, things are expensive) so I actually just cut my own hair (and my hubby’s and kids) a good old YouTube tutorial did the trick for me.

My Mum recently lost her long time (30) years hair dresser that charged $100 for a cut and full bleach. So I did some googling and found a really long time hair dresser in the area and called around and found one that does it for $125 and they took her on as a client. Find a well established, older hair dresser.

It is a great tip, but might be risky for a cut! I do not think I would be brave enough to do that.
But if you are brave and have the time, Tafe also does free childcare and cheap waxes ,and nails if you have those centres near you.

Oh wow that sounds like an excellent deal! After a few bad experiences with hairdressers, I just learnt to cut my own hair (just a basic cut, nothing fancy) and now cut my daughter’s hair too.
