Hello!

I am 42 years old, I had my children in the early 90’s & am now starting to experience irregular periods. Has anyone had this experience? And could this be the beginnings of early menopause?

  • I think it could deffinately be early menopause.

  • Yes, check with your doc, you can have a blood test for hormone levels and this will set your mind at ease

  • Yes, you may well be on your way to menopause. I started at 41 years of age (due to thyroid removal). Check with your Doctor to find out exactly if you are. You can have blood tests to measure your hormone levels. All the best.

  • It could be! Get it checked by a Dr if you want to know for sure.

  • it could be, have a blood test and get your hormone levels checked

  • Possibly, treatment has come a long way, find a great GP

  • Yes it is … I have just gone through all this and just had a Mirena fitted

  • It very well could be the start of menopause! But u will need to confirm with doc

  • Visit your doctor he will help you

  • hopefully you have sought out a medical opinion.

  • Hope it all goes well for you.

  • My mother went through an early menopause at the age of 40. Her symptom (hot flushes and moodiness) were quite severe. It might be worth having a chat with your family doctor.

  • Best bet is to go to the doctor. Hope it gets better for u

  • Every body is different go see your gp

  • Go see your doctor, they should be able to get to the bottom of whats going on. I’ve heard quite a few stories of people going through menopause even before the age of 40

  • I’d say its a tad early but you better go and see your GP to clear things.

  • Your doctor will confirm whether or not it’s menopause or not but if your between 40-45 they recon a pre- menopause comes on preparing your body, but don’t stress its only natural and it may not even be go to your doctor and let us know how you go. Good Luck = )

  • I’m 36 and I’m going through the same thing and my dr put me on tranexamic acid to reduce my heavy cycle ask your doctor about it to see whether its suitable for you good luck

  • I would see your doctor there are so many reasons for irregular periods
