Call the school and ask to speak to the head of year 7 or 8 now. Let them know what’s happening, name names and call out the bullies. Teachers will watch what’s happening from a distance and report back to you. I have changed school before and would do it again if it keeps the kids safe.
Would he be open to talking with an impartial counsellor or psychologist outside of school? They would be able to provide specific advice for your family. I’m sorry that he’s experiencing that. Keep validating that what they are doing is wrong and that it is not his fault.
Aw bless, that is hard indeed ! First of all I’m glad he’s talking to you. Keep offering a listening ear and show compassion. On a certain point you may want to encourage him to talk about what’s happening at school. I would try to point him to the guidance counselor, they know the school the staff and really care about our kids.
That’s really hard for your child and you. I would suggest having a meeting with school staff to work out how your child can be supported and kept safe. Even if your son doesn’t want to name the bullies you could ensure he has someone and somewhere to go to at school if he needs it and the staff would be aware of it to keep an eye on him (as well as looking at how to address the issues more generally).
