  • Subway sandwiches are fairly healthy.

  • Sushi is a great healthy takeaway. The seaweed has iodine and you can get veggies in them for added nutrition

  • Find a good Chinese or Indian place close by. They do the yummiest meals, with lots of veggies, mostly low fat. And you usually get big portions fir reasonable prices. You can mix and match, get a couple of containers and share it out. Delicious

  • a sandwich bar is probably the healthiest after a salad bar. Sumo salad is popular but you have to be careful it is not smothered in dressings.

  • Sushi as long as you trust th place is fresh, salad stores or fresh sandwich places are good. Fish and chip stores usually will have an option to have grilled fish and salad instead of chips.

  • I think a steak sandwich is reasonable healthy as in it’s all whole food. Ask for no butter, no mayo.
Otherwise you can get gluten free pizza, just ask for reduced cheese.

  • yeah in my town there are not many healthy options but where i used to live, had an organic cafe that was really cheap and did great meals

  • subway or any place that makes fresh sandwiches. Why not make your own subway sandwich

  • Thanks for the link LEPUMPKINHEAD it’s helpful..and I do love subway, honey oat toasted with heaps of salad and roast chicken is my fav and it’s their pick on the link as well.

  • grilled fish sushi subway, but when we get take away we are looking for junk food as we eat healthy all wk

  • I love subways there rolls are so nice and healthy also …. chinese meals are also very healthy

  • Sushi! Can’t beat it for healthiness & convenience!

  • Subway isn’t as bad as some of them. Sumo Salad?

  • I love going to a place calle live at. They have a lot of salad options, wraps and rolls. I also get my juices from there. Subway is great also but it is high in sugar (the bread) I didn’t realise until I had to check my blood sugar levels for gd. Some pizza places offer salads and healthier alternatives. When my partner gets pizza I get salads.

  • What about wraps-salad, tabouleh,

  • I’m a vegetarian so I look for the vegie delight in Subway, and vegie bowl in Salsas to start with. I’ve seen other soup and salad vendors that could be a reasonable source too.

  • It is much cheaper to make your own food which you know exactly what is going into it. I’m not sure there are too many “healthy” take away foods that are budget friendly…maybe sushi?

  • Make your own homemade pizzas it’s cheaper and healthier at least you know what cheese going on top

  • The problem with takeaway is you never really know what went into it – thai and vietnamese generally have less oil than chinese however there can be msg added. Choose foods like stirfry veg, not curries, battered or fried foods. The plainer the better eg roast chicken and salad. Avoid stuffing. Even chicken can be injected with fat when cooking to make it really succulent. The cheapest and healthiest option is to make the equivalent meals at home. Places like crust have a healthy choice range but it’s pretty expensive!

  • Noodles , soups, vegetables and salads are always good.
