  • Frangipani trees and agaves are very low maintenance and make a big statement in the garden. I also like geraniums because they too are low maintenance with lots of flowers year round.

  • I like to have edible plants in my garden. In the part of my garden that gets full sun it was recommended to me by a horticulturalist to plant goji berries.

  • Roses would be gorgeous especially the old fashioned ones with scent, they need at least six hours of full sun and they are low maintenance. I buy mine from ‘Treloars Roses’ best around and they always survive. There is nothing like having the scent of old fashioned flowers in one’s yard.

  • We looked at a lot of Australian natives, generally low maintenance and designed for our climate. We also planted fruit trees and a veggie garden.

  • Natives are a good choice and they can be sourced easily from the nursery.

  • I love ground covers. Lots of colour, easy to grow and maintain and beautiful when in flower

  • I would go for native plants. I don’t have green thumbs and they have always survived best for me in full sun.

  • Good suggestion for fruit trees.

  • If it’s going to be full of sun, I would go planting trees! Maybe fruit trees so you get fruit and shade
